Simple Womans Daybook for November 7, 2010

FOR TODAY
November 7, 2010

Outside my window...
Hardly any leaves are left on the plum tree, and it's getting dark.

I am thinking...
I am very hungry and need to eat something.

I am thankful for...
my daughter, Ruth. She went with me today when I went shopping at Costco. She is such a big help to me on these kinds of outings. She takes care of all the heavy stuff I'm not allowed to carry.

From the kitchen...
I hear the sound of the dishwasher humming along.

I am wearing...
Jeans, a colorful t-shirt with a floral print on it, and a swim suit underneath.

I am creating...
well, a teal colored cardigan, a pair of fingerless mitts, and two pair of socks, plus various beaded projects.

I am going...
to my brother-in-laws house in a few minutes for pizza, Margaritas, and a hot tub. I managed to sprain my foot rather badly recently and a nice soak would do wonders.
Blackwork (Needlecraft Mystery)
I am reading...

Blackwork by Monica Ferris

I am hoping...

my foot will heal properly.

I am hearing...

Disney's Flubberan annoying clicking noise to my left. Ruth is popping something made of plastic while she watches Flubber on tv.

Around the house...

It looks so nice. Still clean from yesterdays efforts.

One of my favorite things...
Robin Williams, who is the star of Flubber. He is, in my opinion, one of the funniest people on earth.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
post on this blog every day, get the piece of the Teal Cardigan done that I'm working on, teach my classes on Thursday, attend two different knitting groups, find some 3mm crystals so I can finish the project for the French beading class.( I have not found any locally. I tried 4mm ones yesterday in hopes they'd work. No go, so I guess it's mail order for me.) and half a dozen other things on my list of things to do. Oh yes, and plan a goodbye party we're going to have next weekend for my daughter Sarah and her Husband. No grass grows under my feet.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
This is very funny.

  1. I remember 20 years ago when 20 year old son John told me he was moving across the country to a job. It was hard to remind myself that my goal for my children was to raise them to be self-confident and independent. It really is one of the marks of successful parenting. But it sucks.
