Here is what I'm currently working on.
I started this cross stitch sampler shortly after I finished stitching the bicycle. It was a very quick project, which is what I needed. It's been washed and pressed and now I'm waiting for the framing kit to arrive. It should be here any day now. You'll be seeing it again after it's framed.
This is a new cross stitch project. I think I started this a couple year ago or so, but set it aside for the bicycle project. It will be a pic of flamingos.
It's a kit from Thea Gouverneur that I'd found on Amazon, I think. It came in white fabric or black and though the black fabric one is quite impressive, I opted for the white fabric because the eyes are getting old. It's 16 count Aida, which is kinda small for my eyes so I will be making judicious use of my clip on magnifier (Black fabric is 18 count). I am stitching with one strand of floss. So far so good. I had not gridded it before so I spent a week doing so earlier this month. It's going to be a very big picture. 25 inches on the long side!
I finished the little cardigan I was working on, so now I am making the matching booties. I also started a pair of mittens for KnitWits using the Mittens for Mimi pattern on Ravelry.
I've used this pattern before. I'm using yarn from the personal stash.
The cat mittens are on hold. I've bought some thicker yarn for them. It's swatch time for that. I'm hoping it will work. It's DK yarn, but looks thicker than I was expecting. Sigh.
Weather has been hot for the past week or so. No smoke problems yet though, which is awesome since we're near the end of July. Today we've got a Red Flag warning. Later this afternoon it will be in the 90's with very low humidity and big winds a-coming. This is ultimate fire weather. A cooler front is moving into the area so it should be much more comfortable tomorrow. In the meantime, if there's a heaven, the inventor of air conditioners should be there.
Live long and prosper. \\//
