WIP Wednesday February 2, 2011

I have several WIP's to show you today. I've been working on each one over the past week.

First of all is the Lobster cardigan. I have put the shoulders together, and knitted on the button bands. Next will be knitting on the collar, then sewing the side and sleeve seams.

Next is the second Cenotes sock. I'm just about to turn the heel.

Then there's the return of the Away Mission/Star Trek sock. I've turned the heel on it too.

I am much much happier with the gold yarn I'm using now. It has metallic gold mixed in and sparkles. It's just a softer gold all around. The other one had too much yellow in it.

I have been working on a 'new' project for Knitwits. Jan gave me this sweater to finish a few months ago or so. I'm finally getting around to doing it. I was given the front, back, and start of the sleeve. I've added a couple inches to the sleeve so far. It took me a bit to figure out what size needle I needed to use so I'd match the gauge of the original knitter, then I had to figure out where it was in the pattern.

Thankfully, the pattern was donated with this one.

I just hope I have enough yarn to finish it. There is some question of that. I've got a plan, in case there isn't. With any luck, I won't have to use it.

Yesterday we had a large visitor.

I think it was Greyback. It sure looked like her, but it was a little hard to confirm. She refused to come out of the trees so I could get a good look at her. She was more interested in eating the trees.

I took a pic of her footprints in the snow. My daughters hand is there to give an idea of size.

She hung around for a couple hours or so. Tommy barked and banged his nose against the window the whole time. She didn't seem to mind. I did though. My ears got real tired of it.

The last two days we have had sunshine and frigid temps. This morning it was 7F degrees when I got up. The high was 23. But we're not getting whomped on like they are back east. So I'm happy.

  3. I wish we could have interesting visitors like that where I live! Love the blue that you are using for your Cenotes socks.

  4. Nice stuff! I can't imagine finishing something that someone else started. I have a hard enough time trying to figure out what the heck I was doing on something if I put it down for weeks ... nevermind trying to figure out what someone else was doing!
